Urgent Care GP

The Opportunity
cmr is working with a national urgent care provider seeking VR GPs for FIFO Urgent Care Clinic work across Australia. These are permanent opportunities where you can base yourself in a region of your choice and be available to commit to FIFO to help cover periods of leave in the group. Rosters are built around your availability too. These roles suit GPs who are flexible, confident in acute presentations, and open to a variety of shift patterns across UCC settings.

The Practice
These clinics operate under the Urgent Care Clinic model, managing Category 3–5 presentations and stabilising higher acuity patients prior to transfer where required. Most sites operate with a 1 GP to 1 nurse model, with Nurse Practitioner support where funding allows. Higher volume sites may have up to 2 GPs per shift.

The Benefits

• Earn up to $275/hr, with potential for higher rates for FIFO placements
• Minimum 24 hours per week, with preference for GPs seeking 40+ hours

• Potential DPA options available for moratorium-restricted GPs

The Location
Opportunities are available across Australian Urgent Care Clinics, including metro, regional and coastal locations. Doctors may nominate a preferred base location, with FIFO work coordinated depending on clinic need, availability and roster requirements.

The Criteria

• Specialist AHPRA Registration
• FRACGP or FACRRM
• Current ALS1, or ALS1 booked within the next 3 months
• Current medical indemnity insurance
• Comfortable managing Category 3–5 presentations, including fracture management, wound management and reading X-rays
